Broadcast Migration FAQ
As of September 15th 2026, Broadcasts is available directly from your Plain workspaces.
If you used the old standalone Broadcasts app, your audiences have been moved across automatically. This page covers what changed, what to check, and what to do before the old app closes.
What changed?
Broadcasts is no longer a separate app. It now lives directly inside Plain, alongside your threads, customers, and the rest of your support workflow. The Broadcasts page is available from your Plain sidebar.
What was migrated to Plain?
Your audience has been migrated over in a best-effort manner. But if you did not have a channel connected to your main Plain workspace, then we couldn't auto-add it to your new audience.
We recommend you double check your audiences before access to the old broadcast app closes at the end of September.
Past broadcast history from the old app was not migrated to Plain. If you need a record of past sends, log in to the old app before September 30 and export what you need.
Where do I find my audiences in Plain?
Go to Broadcasts > Audiences in Plain. Your migrated audiences will be there under their original names, ready to use on any new broadcast.
If you are not seeing what you expect, see the section below on missing audiences.
What if an audience is missing or looks wrong?
If the audience is not as they remember or expected, that's likely because the channel either (a) is disabled or (b) was set up as a discussion channel or (c) the Slackbot is not in the channel and it's not added to your Plain connected channels list.
Do I need to do anything to start using Broadcasts in Plain?
No. Broadcasts is already enabled for your workspace. Open Plain, go to Broadcasts, and you can start composing a new broadcast straight away.
What happens to my past broadcast history?
Past sends from the old app are not available in Plain. The old app remains accessible in read-only mode until September 30, so you have time to log in and save any records you need before it closes.
What about the old Broadcasts Slack app?
The old app and its Slack integration will stop working when the old app closes on September 30. Broadcasts in Plain uses your existing Plain Slack integration, so no new Slack app installation is needed.
