Why do Plain's Slack notifications only show part of the message?

Slack workspace notifications from Plain show a short preview of the customer message, not the full text. This is not configurable. There is no setting to show the full message or add an expand option in Slack.

When a new thread is created or a customer replies, Plain posts a notification to your connected Slack channel, such as #support. The length of the preview depends on the thread's channel type. Email threads tend to show more text. Other sources, such as chat and API, may show as few as seven words before the text is cut off with an ellipsis. Plain shortens the preview when it builds the notification. It is not a Slack limit.

How to read the full message

Click Open in Plain in the Slack notification to see the full thread and message. If your team needs to read full customer messages at a glance, use Plain's in-app notification feed, the bell icon in the bottom-left, or email notifications. Both show more content.
