Overview
Your personal settings shape how you experience Plain. Your availability to take on new threads, how you're notified about activity that matters to you, and the tools that help you communicate faster.
Availability
Every user in Plain has a status: Online, Offline, or Away. These statuses control whether you receive new thread assignments. You can set working hours to switch automatically at the start and end of each day, or activate Away mode when you’re out for longer. If you do, when a customer replies while you’re away. The thread can be re-assigned to your team, rather than left waiting for you to come back.
Personal notifications
Choose where and when you’re alerted about threads assigned to you, customer replies, and @mentions: via Slack DM, email, or in-app. Personal notifications are separate from workspace-wide notifications and configured in your own Preferences, so you only get the signal that’s relevant to you.

Speech to text and message translation
Dictate replies directly into the composer with speech to text. Your voice can be transcribed in real time as you record. Then, when customers write in another language, message translation detects it automatically and lets you read an English translation inline, without leaving the thread or copying text into another tool.
